How do you want to relax today?

What you should expect from a Personal Relaxation Assistant is not personalizability, it is
extreme and simple personalizability.
Which is exactly what this first feature is about:
allowing you to get the exact mix of relaxation techniques
you want and need in a few simple steps and seconds.

selfRelax only needs you to answer the 2 following
questions in order to immediately create the most
appropriate session for you:

  • Why do you want to relax?
Select your goal/concern among the followings:
sleep, stress, migraine, other pain, hypertension,
    pregnancy/labor, anxiety/depression, just relax

  • How much time do you have?
Select the duration of your session between
    3 and 60 minutes

You can stop the customization right there to let
selfRelax automatically build the right session for
you, selecting and combining the relaxation techniques
that work best for you according to your "personal
relaxation profile"
(see Other features > Personalize)
and to your past preferences. Techniques used include
deep breathing, mental imagery, progressive muscle
relaxation, meditation, autogenic training / self-hypnosis
and two types of body scan relaxation.

If you wish, you can also further customize your session
as shown below:

  • Fine-tuning (optional):

    - Which body parts do you want to focus on?

Face, shoulders & neck, arms, hands, abdomen,
    back, legs or none

    - Which guided imagery theme(s) do you want?
Special place, a secluded beach, solar plexus,
healing oxygen, breathing out pain - 1 (sensation
of cold), breathing out pain - 2 (sensation of warmth)

    - Which meditation type(s) do you want?
Om, mantra, breath counting, mindfulness, free
    meditation

  • Preferences (optional):

    - Which practitioner's voice do you prefer?

    Male of female voice

    - Which background sound do you want?
Ocean, forest, stream, night, rain or silence

    - Are you sitting or lying down?

    - Do you want to control the pace of the session?
If you put the "pace control" off, the session will
follow its own pace, as on tape or CD. But if you
put the "pace control" on, the session will pause
at certain key moments to allow you to take the
time to experience or deepen your feelings or
mental images ; you will just have to press the
"control button" (left mouse button if using a
computer) to resume the session when you
    want to.

When your session is ready, you just have to press "Start",
make yourself comfortable, close your eyes... and let go.
